📍 A few weeks after Trump touring the Gulf with much fanfare, bigger trade deals and the lifting of sanctions on Syria, and as Türkiye is grappling with challenging domestic economic conditions, I wrote that “For many companies, international markets could prove to be the vital lifeline needed to weather the storm at home.“
📍 Reminding readers of the importance of Türkiye’s geography in placing it at the center of strategic trade routes, I commented that “Fast-tracking port expansions and digitising customs can help transform it into a next-gen logistics hub“. With GCC expertise right around the corner…
📍 On the Syrian bonanza, I noted that “Turkey’s early involvement in Syrian reconstruction could establish it as the dominant economic power in the country post-conflict, potentially worth hundreds of billions of dollars over the coming decades.“
📍 I wrote that there is a window of opportunity for Türkiye to capitalise on deep Middle East geopolitical and geoeconomic realignment: “Turkey’s success depends on moving faster and more decisively than its competitors while building lasting advantages that will survive future geopolitical shifts.“
⚠️ In a nutshell: now is the time for Türkiye to collect its geopolitical dividend. “The question is not whether opportunities exist but whether Turkish leadership possesses the vision and execution capability to seize them decisively.“
