Can the Gulf’s PPP boom survive the US-Iran conflict?

As the conflict in the Persian Gulf enters into its 12th week with no end in sight, I contributed comments on the impacts and prospects for the Public-Private Partnership project pipeline in the GCC, in an article titled “Can the Gulf’s PPP boom survive the US-Iran conflict?” by Alicia Buller for Partnerships Bulletin.

Decribing the fundamental shift that this conflict provokes in terms of geopolitical & geoeconomic environment, I commented that “The current conflict escalation has altered the risk calculus for PPPs across the GCC. (…) As the region moves from a period of visionary growth to one of strategic resilience, the pipeline is feeling the pressure of heightened geopolitical premiums and shifting fiscal priorities.
